JOB DESCRIPTION: Foundation and Corporation Manager
REPORTS TO: Director of Development
HOURS: 40 hours per week, Monday – Friday and occasional nights and weekends.
SUMMARY:
The Foundation and Corporation Manager is responsible for managing all aspects of public and private grant activities. He/she will identify and research new corporate and foundation grant opportunities, and the stewardship of current and lapsed corporate and foundation donors.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Responsible for the research and submission of all foundation, corporation, religious institutions and government grants.
- Develop annual calendar for grants submissions and progress reports as requested by donors.
- Create a stewardship program to engage the Executive Director, the Director of Development and members of the Board of Directors in an annual process of stewarding current, lapsed and potential funders.
- Create and maintain system for tracking all grant requests, projections of awards, and actual awards.
- Develop and maintain relationships with Corporate and Foundation funders.
- Re-establish relationships with lapsed Corporate and Foundation funders
- Identify and research new grant and funding sources via grant making databases, professional fundraising publications, local newspapers & publications, internet and websites and any other potential resources.
- Work with Program and Finance staff to maximize funding opportunities for existing programmatic and general operating expenses.
- Update grants materials as needed. Work closely with program staff so that all grants materials are consistent with program goals.
- Attend fundraising and public relations events to build/maintain relationships with funders.
- Attend all Development and staff meetings.
- Assist development staff with special events and projects when needed.
- Work 1 direct service shifts at the shelter per month
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCES:
- Bachelors Degree
- 3 to 5 years of grant writing experience and/or
- Excellent writing, research and organizational skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to build and maintain professional relationships.
- Knowledge of Word, Excel, and Power Point.
- Raiser’s Edge experience a plus.
