Barnes & Noble's "Charity Gift Wrap" is back for another year, and the Women's Lunch Place could not be more excited! For two nights this holiday season, Women's Lunch Place volunteers will be stationed at the gift wrapping booth in front of the Barnes & Noble in Huntington Arcade in the Prudential Center (straight up the stairs from the Cheesecake Factory). All donations for this free service benefit the Women's Lunch Place. In 2011, shoppers donated $1,000 to the Women's Lunch Place - help us raise double the funds for our organization this year! Gifts do not have to be purchased at Barnes & Noble in order to take advantage of this service!

|8th Annual Massachusetts Conference for Women||
WLP Executive Director, Sharon Reilly, has been invited to speak at the 8th Annual Massachusetts Conference for Women on December 6, 2012! Deepak Chopra has been confirmed as a keynote speaker. He joins Arianna Huffington, Brene Brown, Tory Johnson, Kristen Chenoweth and Barbara Bradley Baekgaard.
Sharon is truly honored to be selected as a contributor to the largest women's conference in the state, which offers community and connection, information and inspiration, motivation and momentum.
Sharon will be a featured speaker in the Using Your Professional Skills to Make a Difference" panel. Additionally, she will also take park in a Local Leader Meet Up where attendees have the opportunity to meet Sharon and ask a question! This is an opportunity for attendees to engage with leaders they typically do not have the chance to meet otherwise.
This year the conference will be held at the Boston Convention and Exhibition Center.
|2012 31 Nights of Light||
On Tuesday, December 4th we are kicking off the holiday season by shining brightly over the city of Boston! The top of the tower of the Shops at Prudential Center will be shining yellow in support of the Women's Lunch Place. Since 2009, 31 Nights of Light has brought awareness to different nonprofit organizations during the month of December.

MOBILE GIVING CAMPAIGN: In an effort to continue in the mission of charitable giving, the Deutsche Bank Championship is participating in a “text to pledge” campaign in 2012. As an extension of our Birdies for Charity program that has raised over $1 million dollars since its inception in 2006, this “mobile giving” campaign provides a new avenue to generate donations utilizing modern technology. As the first PGA TOUR Event to utilize a mobile giving campaign, the Deutsche Bank Championship is happy to announce the mobile giving campaign launch.

The 2012 Deutsche Bank Championship presents:
The Birdies for Charity program is an initiative that allows local New England Charities and
Non-Profit organizations to use the Deutsche Bank Championship as a vehicle for fundraising.
How it works: Donate a minimum of $10.00 to the Women's Lunch Place and earn one "guess" at the total number of birdies that will be made by PGA TOUR Pros during the 2012 Deutsche Bank Championship. For each donation made to the Birdies for Charity Program, contestants will be entered for a chance to win 1 of 2 incredible prizes. Please note: Each guess is a minimum $10.00 donation. There is no limit to the number of guesses each contestant can make. For each additional donation/guess, you earn an additional entry into the contest. The Women's Lunch Place will receive 100% of all paid pledges solicited specifically for the Women's Lunch Place. Guesses and donations are accepted through Thursday, August 30th (Golf competition begins Friday, August 31st - Monday, September 3rd.)

|Executive Women's Day at the Deutsche Bank Championship||
The Women's Lunch Place has been named the benefiting charity for of the Deutsche Bank Championship's Executive Women's Day, taking place on Tuesday, August 28, 2012.
The inaugural Executive Women’s Day at the Deutsche Bank Championship is centered around the theme of “Inspiring Women Today & Tomorrow.” This new event will bring together influential women from the Boston area to engage in topics focused on personal and professional development, while highlighting its charitable beneficiary, The Women’s Lunch Place. Keynote speaker, Helen Fisher, PhD Biological Anthropologist, Research Professor, and member of the Center for Human Evolution Studies at Rutgers University as well as Chief Scientific Advisor to the dating site, Chemistry.com, will be discussing "The Female Mind: The Natural Talents of Women and How They are Changing the Business World."
Join us and take part in this one-of-a-kind day beginning with a continental breakfast and panel, followed by a guided tournament tour, luncheon and speaking portion, and finish off with a social event with lots of networking opportunities! |Mother's Day Cards!||
Since 1982 the Women’s Lunch Place has created a safe haven for some of the most underserved women in Boston. What you may not know is that every Mother’s Day the WLP honors our guests with a magical celebration of food, live entertainment, gifts, and flowers.
For many of our guests, Mother's Day can be a difficult time. Many of the women that utilize our services have families who are no longer a part of their lives. Some have lost the care of their children, some have no family contact, and others, as single mothers, struggle to raise children in shelters or one-room apartments.
This is why the dedicated community of the WLP gathers in celebration every Mother’s Day to joyfully celebrate the bond we share as mothers, sisters and friends.
We invite you to be part of this celebration by purchasing your Mother’s Day card for someone special in your life. Your contribution will help to continue the support of our mission. This year’s card highlights original artwork from one of our many talented guests.
Suggested minimum donation: $25 per card | 100% of the proceeds go directly to WLP

|Studio 9 Cut-A-Thon||
Have you been thinking about getting your haircut but just haven't made an appointment yet? Don't worry, Studio 9 will take care of you! Please join Studio 9 and Women's Lunch Place on Sunday, April 29th, 2012 for a Cut-A-Thon!

John and Rebecca joined Team Women's Lunch Place from Indiana and New York, respectively, and ran in support of our organization. Not only did they run in a world renown and the world's oldest annual marathon, but they fundraised during the months leading up to the big day on April 16th, 2012 by reaching out to family, friends, and co-workers. YOU can help them too! Each runner has a team member page on Crowdrise, an online fundraising community, where you can donate directly to each runner's fundraising goal and/or to Team Women's Lunch Place as a whole.

The Women's Lunch place is the chosen benefiting charity for Simmons College 2012 performance of the Vagina Monologues!
The award-winning play is based on V-Day Founder/playwright Eve Ensler's interviews with more than 200 women. With humor and grace the piece celebrates women's sexuality and strength. Through this play and the liberation of this one word, countless women throughout the world have taken control of their bodies and their lives. For more than twelve years, The Vagina Monologues has given voice to experiences and feelings not previously exposed in public.
